The last year we have faced mighty winds, we have faced floods, many trees fell causing chaos, their leaves scattered across roads and sidewalks, their sad remains blocking the way. We have been scorched by the sun and the dry winds, a storm bringing a bit of relief from time to time. Winters are shorter, much too mild and even at times too warm. Snow seems to be becoming shyer and hides atop only the highest peaks, winds bringing sands from exotic and far off locations.
The Sahara has grown about 10 percent larger in a century of drought and dry seasons. Other areas are becoming dryer and many good water supplies slowly drying out, humanity expanding at a rapid rate.
The reason I mention the Sahara specifically is because I believe turning it into a green Oasis will save Europe from even greater natural disasters, including a lack of rain. I think it is time, we Flood the Sahara.
The Sahara was once a fertile savanna teaming with life, including rivers and streams.. I believe flooding certain parts of great desert will not only bring new opportunities for the locals, including fresh water production, I believe it will contribute to helping the earth cool down.
